The Quattro flight management system has successfully demonstrated autonomous runway takeoff and landing. Flight tests were conducted by Magline Composites and Systems in Zaragoza, Spain. The Quattro performed several fully autonomous flights to demonstrate autonomous ground steering, liftoff, waypoint and orbit tracking, and landing. Logic for flap management, auto-abort, user-aborts, flare, ground detection, and rollout were also exercised and validated against simulation.
The Quattro now has over 360 flights and 17hrs of flight time on a wide range of vehicle types including helicopter, quad-plane, tilt-wing, and now fixed-wing autonomous runway operation.
