April 24, 2019 - This is a test where Quattro autopilot hardware was mounted as a ride-along on an airplane equipped with a Piccolo(TM) autopilot. A separate radio link allowed real-time comparison of the two autopilots. Post-flight analysis of the data shows a good match, and where the Piccolo(TM) sometimes has navigation warnings during turns,
March 24, 2019 - In a move to show a different philosophy for flight software development, Applied Navigation has released an overview and demonstration of their system-level automated testing. The test architecture relies on a custom-made flight simulator and auto-generated code to allow testing with low overhead. Adopting this method early on allows test scripts to be developed in conjunction with the flight software itself.
October 17, 2018 - Michael Whitlock comes to us from UTC / Cloud Cap Technology and brings a wealth of experience with embedded software development, flight control theory, and flight test support. Michael will be helping us with flight simulation and guidance and control for the Quattro autopilot.
June 8, 2018 - Applied Navigation now offers a 4-day UAV operator training course that builds upon the 2.5-day course by offering crew resource management and student operation of a Piccolo™ equipped UAV. The new T-28 UAV training vehicle can be configured to fly with the same limits and guidance settings as the customer’s vehicle thus providing the most realistic training possible.
